Musical Background

My musical journey began in my pre-teen years, with formal tuition in both wind instruments and percussion. I continued to develop my musicianship throughout my tertiary studies, ultimately graduating with distinction in music.

In the years that followed, I was involved in a diverse range of musical projects, both live and in the studio. These included musical theatre productions, regular live performances, and numerous recording sessions—often working on both sides of the control-room glass. This diverse experience helped strengthen my versatility as both a performer and a technician.

Professional Audio Engineering Experience

I entered the commercial radio industry as a rookie audio technician, where I quickly gained a strong foundation in audio signal flow, level optimisation, and the practical craft of radio music production. My role expanded rapidly, encompassing radio production, outside broadcast engineering, live music production, and troubleshooting complex audio systems.

After several formative years in commercial radio, I joined the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), continuing my audio engineering work with access to world-class facilities. This experience later led to a move to Triple J in Sydney, where I spent nearly a decade as a promo producer and audio specialist for the national youth network. Alongside my core role, I regularly contributed to iconic programs such as Live at the Wireless, Mix Up, Home & Hosed, and Like a Version. This period solidified my expertise in music mixing, production, and mastering.

During this time, I also remained active as a musician. As a founding member and drummer of the Sydney indie band Lazy Susan, I recorded and released three full-length albums, two EPs, and several singles.

Today

While I still occasionally step onto the live stage, my passion firmly lies in the studio. Whether project managing, tracking, mixing, producing, or mastering, I am dedicated to helping artists realise the full emotional and sonic impact of their music.

With decades of experience across performance, radio, and professional audio production, I bring a unique blend of technical insight and musical intuition to every project. My goal is simple: to help artists sound their absolute best and to share the expertise I’ve gained throughout my career.
